Back in high school, we all imagined the dream couple as the homecoming queen and the captain of the football team. But in this story, the homecoming queen had grown up, become the coach of this year’s National Cheerleading Champions (woo-woo!), and married the tall, handsome coach of the Lacrosse team. It was a high school fairytale dream-come-true. Kimmy and Tim hosted a wonderful weekend for their wedding guests at the beautiful Bonnet Island Estate, which sits on a private island with panoramic views of the bay. Kimmy looked absolutely amazing in her Tara Keely tulle gown, and I love that she did a First Look just for her father! We had a good feeling that this day would be full of prom-queen-worthy smiles and a whole lot of beautiful moments.
We absolutely love when couples bring their furry little friends to share their wedding day with them! This lil’ guy made a run for Kimmy and Tim right after they had seen each other for the first time, and was soon swept up into their arms for hugs, kisses, and an adorable family portrait (smile).
The ceremony was held in the Boathouse Chapel, a picturesque little building overlooking the wetlands. Kimmy had made a promise to her cheerleaders that if they won the National Championships, that she would let them come to her wedding ceremony. And so they lined the balcony as the bride made her way down the aisle, each with an expression of absolute glee, and celebrated their triumph as they watched two beloved coaches from their school tie the knot. The ceremony was especially touching as Kimmy not only accepted a new husband, but also Tim’s two sons, making them a brand new family. They made this commitment together as the four family members performed a sand ceremony to join their hearts together from that day forward.
As a fun touch to their reception entrance, the bridal party each carried lacrosse sticks and pom-poms as they entered the dance floor to welcome the newlywed coaches! After a very heartfelt First Dance, we watched as Kimmy and Tim had the time of their lives with their favorite people in the world. And, of course, sparklers always make a very sweet ending to an epic night.
