As a continuation of our crazy weekend, we boarded a plane in San Jose the very next morning, flew into LAX, rushed through the terminal, picked up our car, and drove to Pasadena just in time for Yasmin and Vincent’s wedding at The Langham Huntington. Phew, we made it!
As flustered as we were trying to get there in time, it was a quick relief seeing how calm and happy our beautiful bride and her girls were when we arrived. Yasmin’s daughter was also there with them, and it immediately occurred to us that this wedding was not just about the bride and groom, but it must be a big day for this little girl as well! So we decided to take a new approach and photograph the day’s events through the eyes of Isabella, capturing her curiosity, wonder, and fascination as she witnesses her mother become a queen for the day. Of course, she got to dress up as a princess herself, which made it all the more exciting (smile).

Yasmin and Vincent looked so effortlessly stunning it left us speechless. No one would have ever known that she bought this dress three days before her wedding (true story!) and was able to rock it like she did on her wedding day. In fact, after the First Look, the groom exclaimed, “Forget the wedding! Let’s just go home!” And for a moment, we were sure Vince was ready to run away with his bride.
Having spent the past year living in Tokyo, Japan, they decided it would be fitting to hold their wedding ceremony on the red bridge in the Japanese Garden. They even provided Japanese parasols for their guests as a personal touch! With all their friends and family (whom they’ve dearly missed) gathered around them for this special moment, the ceremony was truly touching and heartfelt. We love how the Japanese Garden was a sweet mix of Japanese and Californian details (where else do you see koi ponds shaded by palm trees?), and the bride and groom felt right at home.
The reception was equally impressive with simple sophistication, thanks to the ladies at Behind the Scene! I was particularly impressed that Yasmin was able to do a fully choreographed First Dance in a dress that didn’t bustle, and Vincent didn’t step on her train even once (smile). There were so many funny, emotional, and unforgettable moments that made this wedding celebration truly unique. They had performances lined up throughout the night, and even prepared a surprise birthday cake for the Father of the Bride. There was so much love in the room that night! During the Father-Daughter dance, Vincent joined the dance floor with Isabella, but soon swapped partners and began to dance with the bride’s father—it was one of those moments that we will never forget.
We are so incredibly blessed to have met this wonderful couple and been able to share in such a loving and memorable day with them and their family. What a beautiful way to end a busy weekend and inspire us to press on through the rest of our crazy summer!
