Most people would likely consider weddings to be the groom’s lucky day, especially when the bride is as gorgeous and endearing as Amber. But knowing Joel, it was no surprise that he believed this was the luckiest day in her life (smile). It was one of those days where we walked into the room and immediately felt like we were old friends. Amber is one of the sweetest brides we have ever met, so it made sense that everybody around her (especially Joel) loved her to pieces. There were even members of the bridal party who were her best friends from the second grade! Two of them actually happened to be what we called “bridesmen”, and though we didn’t get to see them sporting bridesmaid dresses down the aisle, we did notice that they were among the first to shed a tear when Amber and Joel finally said “I do”.

Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful places in the world to get married. And with views as stunning as those at Auberge du Soleil, the experience is nothing short of breathtaking. But one of our favorite parts of being photographers in wine country is that there is no shortage of epic backdrops. It’s not everyday that we can just simply pull over to the side of the road and find places this amazing! Oh, Napa Valley, we heart you.

Their reception was equally beautiful, but with less tears (minus the Maid of Honor speech) and more “Classic Joel” moments. Breaking out into freestyle monkey dancing during the first dance, wearing wedding cake on his face, and stealing the spotlight during the traditional Money Dance, it was clear that Amber married this man because he always knows how to make her laugh. While there might be some debate as to whether the bride or the groom was the luckiest person at this wedding, we were sure that we were the ones who were truly blessed to have shared a milestone with this beautiful family. We love you both!
