We are so stinkin’ excited to show you this next wedding! First off, it’s in the beautiful state of Vermont of all places. Secondly, every detail was handmade and planned to perfection by a super talented bride (with a great sense of style!). But most importantly, this was the wedding of an awesome couple, Liz and Donny, whom we couldn’t wait to see again after a memorable engagement session at Haverford College. And they chose one of the most amazing places to celebrate the start of their new life together—Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont.

There’s so much to love about farm weddings, especially one that kicks off with an epic rehearsal dinner. As many of you know, “epic” is one of Wayne’s favorite words, and we don’t use it lightly. But this rehearsal dinner deserved this title fair and square. Besides the mouth-watering lobster and clam buffet, guests were also able to enjoy an old-fashioned popcorn machine, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, “Mapple” pies (apple + maple), and even roasted marshmallows by campfire at nightfall. All of this, of course, took place in the charming Red Barn for a perfectly intimate gathering. Family and friends passed the mic around to share fond memories of the soon-to-be-newly-weds, and joined together to start the dance floor with special performances by some dear friends. What a way to begin the weekend celebrations!

Finally, it was the day we had all been waiting for, and the day Liz had spent the past year planning and crafting every tiny detail to perfection—even down to the gentlemen’s yellow socks. The cheerful yellow embellishments against the rustic, aged surfaces of the farm were a pleasant mix of new and old, bright and mellow. Liz even built her own letterpress “factory” at home so she could hand-make intricate little booklets to send to her guests as invitations! We were blown away by everything we saw. And of course, you can’t have a farm wedding without a pair of bright yellow Hunter boots for trekking around the open fields. It was all so very picture perfect, especially our beautiful bride!

Liz and Donny held a lovely traditional Catholic ceremony at the nearby Christ the King Church. Donny had spent all morning preparing his vows, and it was all worth it when not just the bride, but all the bridesmaids, too, shed more than a few tears. With bridal attendants making sure the bride was looking gorgeous for every second of the wedding, their ceremony was a total win.

Back at the farm, the party was just getting started, and a spectacular array of handmade details were waiting to wow their guests. Liz pulled together her magic and had made her own vintage library catalog box to house her custom-made escort cards, which of course, were selected titles from the romance section. The Brown Barn reception hall was nothing short of amazing, decked out in glass chandeliers that hung from wood beams, and Liz’s carefully designed place settings to welcome her guests to their dinner tables. There was even a milk and cookie bar prepared for those with a sweet tooth later on in the evening, next to a spectacular storybook wedding cake!

It took no time at all for the dancing to get on its way with their full band livening up the room as soon as the doors opened. I mean, getting to play air guitar with the electric guitarist rocking out right next to you? You really can’t beat that! It was a party that none would soon forget, and a weekend that would be talked about for many, many years to come. Congratulations, Liz and Donny! We had the most incredible time with you and your families—what a way to experience our first trip to Vermont!
