This was a very special engagement session for us as we spent the afternoon at Sayen Park in Hamilton, NJ with two of our very good friends. A double date, if you will. We have known Jill and Tony since before they became “Jillony”, and have had our share of good food, board games, craft dates and guitar jam sessions throughout our friendship. We were ecstatic when they finally got engaged, and even more so when they asked us to take their engagement photos! But having known them for long also meant we knew what challenges lay ahead…which meant our main mission was to get Tony to smile. So after some rather embarrassing moments for us (or maybe just Wayne), I think we did a pretty good job.
This photo shoot was all about celebrating what Jill and Tony love, which made even the simplest things seem magical (especially with great light!). Jill loves handmade crafts and is particularly good at crocheting cute little amigurumi dolls, so she brought along a fun little set that she had made for them early on in their relationship. Tony’s latest craze has been all things guitar, so he bought a ukelele for Jill and taught her how to play, just so they could strum together. These little things made the session so much fun, and if we recall correctly, we even got to hear Tony sing! It was a complete surprise, and totally made our day (smile). Can’t wait to dance with you two at your wedding!
