There’s nothing quite like watching two people you love celebrate their wedding day. Jessica and Derek blended their families at the San Diego Botanic Garden on a beautifully sunny San Diego day. A Thursday, to be exact. There was nothing traditional about their wedding—no flowers, no wedding party, not even a white dress—and yet everything was perfect. Jessica’s twins were the most adorable Best Man and Maid of Honor, who were beyond thrilled to make their favorite guy their stepdad. As we watched this family become one, their guests teary-eyed and full of joy, we felt so honored to be a part of their story, and even more so to call them family. And if you couldn’t tell, the bride and groom were walking on cloud nine. The day had finally come. We couldn’t be happier for you, Jess and Derek! Congratulations!
What a way to end a fantastic year and start a new one! Esther and Paul flew in from New York City to tie the knot at the Father of the Bride’s church right here in our neighborhood! Though everything seemed familiar, we were challenged by the strange San Diego weather we’ve been having as New Year’s Eve was gifted with a downpour of rain (us Californians are thankful!). But this bride and groom were clearly so in love that it didn’t matter one bit! We took pictures around the hotel and ushered them to the church under giant umbrellas, where hundreds of people were waiting to celebrate with the proud father who walked his daughter down the aisle in his own church. Once the vows were said and the rings were given, it was time to party. And boy, do these people know how to party right! The dance floor never stopped, and they all danced through the (entire) night. We all counted down the last seconds of 2016 together and welcomed the New Year with great joy. Congratulations, newlyweds! Here’s to love, laughter, and happily ever after.
